Nigeria’s IK to host Big Brother

Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa will host the eighth edition of the Big Brother Africa (BBA) for the fifth time in a row.

Last week MultiChoice Africa announced that Africa’s reality show will return to the screen in May.

“Big Brother Africa season eight host would be IK from Nigeria, who would be hosting the show for the 5th year running. He signed a 5 year contract with MnetAfrica/Endemol before the revolution season,” reads a communication on Big Brother Facebook page.

The post further says the IK’s contract would come to an end after season eight and it is not clear if the contract would be renewed or not.

Meanwhile, MultiChoice is searching for young Africans to participate in the show from 14 countries.

After 91 days the winner this year will cart home USD 300 000 (105 million Malawi kwacha).

Meanwhile, Ethiopia has been replaced with Liberia as the organizers say certain countries will be rotating to ensure that a wide range of countries are included in different editions of the series.

As a result of the change, participating countries this year are: Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Some of contestants that have presented the country before at the show include DJ Lomwe, Hazel Warren, Code Sangala and Watipaso Kulemeka among others.—Zodiak Online
