ZOMBA: In order to reduce increased divorces and gender based violence in families, a Malawian faith based organization called Family Hope Counseling and Care Network (FANET)has been launched in Zomba District.

Executive Director, Fedelis Blessings Makaula said the grouping has been introduced to bring back the natural love in troubled families and reconcile the families that divorced without proper grounds.

He said as a faith based organisation they will be working with the clergy and police victim support units to provide counseling to the already established families and those intending to get married.

“The organisation has been formed after noticing that most families divorce on reasons that could have been resolved,” said Makaula.

He added that FANET will be working with the clergy, psychologists and law experts to provide counseling to families and the youths on how best they can maintain love with their loved ones.

FANET is currently working in Zomba District but according to the officials, the organisation plans to spread to all districts in the country.—Zodiak Online
