Govt to Construct Police Houses Nationwide

Malawi will soon start constructing houses for police officers in all police stations across the country to maximize security, Home Affairs Minister Uladi Mussa has said.

Mussa said government is concerned with the poor condition of police officers houses across the country.

“We are discussing with the state President to accommodate the project in the next national budget to be approved in June this year” said, Mussa.

The minister said the problem of housing for the security officers is negatively affecting their operations because it takes time for them to assemble on time during urgent need.

“Our police officers need new houses in all police stations to ensure maximum security in the country because sometimes they fail to operate effectively because of the distance from their homes to offices” said the Minister.
