FAM Unveils New Flames Technical Panel

It’s now official. Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has unveiled the new Malawi National Team technical panel comprising Eddington Ng’onamo as head coach and his two assistants Patrick Mabedi and Ernest Mtawali.
Speaking during a press briefing at Chiwembe Technical centre in Blantyre Tuesday, FAM president Walter Nyamilandu Manda said the four will be on three months probation.
“We will offer them contracts depending on their performance during the three months probation period,” said Nyamilandu.
He further said the four are expected to prepare the team for the games ahead in the ongoing 2014 World Cup qualifiers and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
“We hope they will bring the Flames back to old winning ways. We have tried all seasoned coaches and now it's time for Eddie,” N’gonamo.
He said as FAM they have shelved the plan of recruiting an expatriate coach until the three months probation expires.
Coach Ng’onamo said they will make sure that they perform to their best.
“We are filling big boots but I know that soon they will become small so much that we will fit in. we will try our best,” he said.
Meanwhile, preparations for the game against Namibia later this month have started as the team regrouped Monday at Chiwembe Technical Centre.—Zodiak Online
