One afternoon a few months ago, a group of Malawian journalists went to cover a government event in the lakeshore district of Mangochi.

Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera BA. BTh (Hons). MTh. D.Min. has now confirmed his interest to contest for the party presidency at the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) convention to be held from April 27 to 29.

It was reported on 14^th April, 2013 Assemblies of God President Reverend Dr Lazarus Chakwera had confirmed that he was considering to run for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) presidency with the intention of contesting for 2014 presidential election.  According to the comments I read, I discovered that there is a mixed reaction. Some people are very excited about Chakwera’s move for they see hope for Malawi considering that the man has a good reputation. On the other hand, there are people who think it is not proper for Chakwera to go into politics because he is a pastor.

The Commission of Inquiry instituted last year to investigate circumstances surrounding death of the former president late Professor Bingu Wa Mutharika has released its findings. Below is the full report.
