Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO) Football Club are through to the finals of the Thumbs Up Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) league after beating FCB Nyasa Big Bullets reserve 2-0 on aggregate.

On Wednesday, the Mulanje based team held the Bullets reserve side to a goalless draw in the second leg at Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre but in the first leg, FOMO FC won 2-0 with goals from Hassan Luwemba and James Msowoya in a game that was played at Esperanza ground in Mulanje last Sunday.

FOMO will play against Ntopwa Football Club in the finals on 4th February at Kamuzu stadium.

FOMO FC Coach Mapopa Msukwa said much as they wanted to at least score a goal and win the game, a draw was a fair result.

“All in all, we are through to the finals of the league and that is a very important thing and now our focus is on the final game,” said Mapopa.

His opposite number, Enos Chatama said his charges played well only that they failed to utilize the scoring opportunities we had.

“We failed to control the game in Mulanje where we lost the game but we cannot complain much though there were some anomalies in the officiation of this game, we will go to the drawing board and see what went wrong,” said Chatama.

Unlike the previous years, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets reserve side has failed to win trophy this year.
