Malawi's international striker Russell Mwafulirwa is in negotiations with Jomo Cosmos which could see him returning to the club. After failing to establish themselves in the PSL, since gaining promotion at the end of last season, Cosmos boss Jomo Sono told Soccer-Laduma that he contacted Mwafulirwa with the aim of bringing him aboard to help the team out.
However, according to soccer laduma, not many people know that the former silver strikers striker made a stop in Mangaung at Bloemfontein Celtic’s headquarters before reaching his destination in Johannesburg.
The Siya crew has it on good authority that Mwafulirwa had a few training sessions with Siwelele before proceeding to Ezenkosi. Celtic’s team manager John Maduka confirmed that the former IFK Norrkoping player trained with the club in green and white before he left to “sort out some other stuff.”
“Russell Mwafulirwa was here. He trained with the club on Tuesday and Wednesday and then he left. You must remember that he has just come from overseas so he needed to sort out some other stuff (that’s why he left),” Maduka told the Siya crew.
The former Bush Bucks player confirmed that they have not yet made a decision on any of the three foreign strikers currently training with the side. The three players are Okechukwu Nwadike (Nigeria), Seidou Idrissa (Niger) and Ransford Osei (Ghana).—Zodiak Online
