Chief Mwase Installation this Thursday
One week after the postponement, the installation of Kasungu’s Chief Mwase finally takes place this Thursday at the chieftaincy’s headquarters in the district.
District Commissioner, Mr. Harrison Lende says government has finally approved the name of Mr. Japhet Chozale as the right heir to the Mwase throne.
“After a process of scrutiny the government has finally settled for the name of Mr. Chozale,” said the DC.
Last week, government postponed the installation following disagreements that erupted among family members.
The DC had then told zodiak online that the cancellation was because another royal family protested against the choice of Mr. Chozale.
“The other family complained to the ministry of local government that Mr. Chozale was not the right heir. Currently the ministry has identified some chiefs to mediate the differences before the installation takes places,” said the DC
The other claimant Mr. Zimba also insisted he was the right heir, saying he was chosen by the late Chief Mwase to take over and he had been acting as chief Mwase for a long time.
After the cancellation, a task team comprising chiefs from other districts was set to follow up the matter and recommend to government the rightful heir who now happens to be Mr. Chozale.—Zodiak Online
