Minister Booed for Mentioning Bingu

Malawi’s Minister of Sports, Youth Development and Culture, Symon Vuwa Kaunda was on Sunday forced off stage, cutting his speech short after he mentioned President Bingu wa Mutharika’s name in his speech.

The Minister was presiding over the launch of a gospel music album by Miriam Kuseni at Sheafer Conference Hall in Lilongwe.

“I am happy to be here…..this (the event) is all possible because of the wise and dynamic leadership of Ngwazi Professor Bingu wa Mutharika…,” said Kaunda drawing anger from the public who argued that there was no connection between the show and the President.

The audience continued booing and chanting that he should leave the stage immediately, a thing he did but he did not completely leave the hall.

When zodiak online sought his reaction, the Minister disputed the whole thing insisting that he was yet to make a speech.

After a few minutes he took to the podium again and started announcing that he had a gift of K250,000 from the President’s brother, Professor Peter Mutharika who has been handpicked to represent the ruling party in 2014.

But when the Minister attempted to mention the President’s name again, the audience went mad and booed him until the Minister was forced off the stage again.

However the resilient Minister simply went back to his seat and continued watching the show.

Most cabinet Ministers in Malawi mention the President’s name for sheer praise whenever presiding over functions.  - Zodiak Online

Very unfortunate for a once beautiful country. Goverment has made it's own citizens to fight each other in fillling stations, when buying sugar and seeking forex. Malawians are now putting their warmth and humanity aside when accessing basic things otherwise ukakhala wa ulemu ngati m'mene timakhaliladi sugula kanthu. How someone be proud to lead a nation that is frustrated like that and to make matters worse you call yourself a professor, christian and listening president? Shame on you!

On a serious note, I wish such embarrassing events send serious messages to the "ngwazi" and his cohorts that Malawians are angry with his "dynamic and wise" leadership which has brought untold misery and suffering on innocent Malawians. In this leadership, Malawians have learnt a lot; such as fighting on long queues for fuel & sugar. We've also learnt that a whole elected government with a "professor" as its President, who is dying to hand-pick his baby brother to take over the presidency as it occurred to him 12 years ago, can run on black market where all essential commodities are readily available. An arrogant government that refuse to listen to people's views and wishes and let a university college to close for 8 months, only to re-open it without achieving anything from its arrogance; a government that refuses to honour legitimate wishes of the judiciary only to bow down 3 moths later without achieving anything from its stubbornness. A government that has never won any legal fight against the citizenry despite its pompousness and stubbornness.
Shame on the "ngwazi" and his leadership, shame on Vuwa who accepted to be ridiculed and embarrassed by the youthful gathering because of "today's salt", shame on all cabinet ministers, DPP and government officials serving this incompetent and mediocre government!

All this rain is because of the wise and dynamic leadership of the Ngwazi Professor, Dr. H. Kamuzu Bingu Wa Mutharika Banda.
