The choir left Thursday through Kamuzu International Airport
Speaking before departing for Tanzania, the choir’s chairperson, Angella Chankomera said the conference will help the grouping and the youths at large in Africa in building up themselves and engage.
Chankomera said apart from preaching the word of God through music, they will utilize the platform to learn different things and then share the knowledge when they get back home after the trip.
“Being invited is a privilege for us and we are not going to disappoint in all the aspects including music and contributions during the conference, “Chankomera said.
The conference has been organized by the Stream of Tranquility Ministry, and will be held from 28 to 29 May with an aim of helping youths in Africa build up thinking through patriotism and know that success begins at their own homes and not in other countries.
In a letter signed by Stream of Tranquility Ministry Chief Executive Officer Tulibako Mwakasege, they have invited the choir to represent Malawi and they are optimistic that they will also share music experiences from various countries that will be in participation.
“We are very excited about this forum and we believe that participants will share various experiences ranging from both music and business,” said part of the letter.
Choice Construction is footing all the bills for the trip.
The company's Managing Director, Daniel Makaula says they thought of supporting the choir because of the unique talent that requires support to go far and wide.
Makaula said they will in the near future support similar talents in a quest to promote local arts industry.
