Tsar Leo Turns Vernacular
His name is not new in Malawi’s music cycles. A mere visit on several search engines for urban music, will definitely bump into his tunes.
He is a trap genius that left a mark through his delivery in English.
His name is Tsar Leo.
Some of his towering projects include ‘My Girl’, ‘Places Like Malawi’ which were adapted from his 2021 EP ‘Still and Always’.
In his prime time include, Tsar Leo also released famous ‘the other side’, ‘Nane’ ft Kell Kay and Angella.
These are songs that enjoyed airplay both on radio and televisions.
But Tsar Leo has told Zodiak Online that he has decided to rebrand.
In the process, he is switching from English to the vernacular Chichewa language
Announcing his rebranding, Tsar Leo has released ‘Misonzi’, a song he has featured Teddy.
The song is essentially talking about someone who is heartbroken after a breakup and he/she feels love is overrated.
“I decided to switch to Chichewa as I rebrand. This I think will widen my spectrum of audience.
This does not mean that I have changed my trap genre nor I am quitting from my music career
This is rather my approach to show authenticity and the love for my music career” said Tsar Leo.
Tsar Leo made a name around 2016.
