A Chilomoni Based entrepreneur in Blantyre says the establishment of studio 24 will provide young people in the township a platform to showcase their talent and recreation activities.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Studio 24 Tamani Mbukwa believes the initiative will promote self-employment and fight mental health issues which are affecting various parts of Malawi.

He added that he will also venture into talent management to ensure that the talent of the youth is sustained.

“For Instance, if musicians want to hold a show but they do not have the financial muscle, they can come to us and get assistance. After the show, we will sit down and split the proceeds hence promoting self-employment.

“Studio 24 will also be used as a recreation centre for the youth with hope to deal with mental health issues,” said Mbukwa.

He further stated that the studio was designed to be self-sustaining to empower young people.

“We will work hand in hand with the government including police to curb crime in this area. We want to keep them busy,” he explained.

Meanwhile, authorities at Chilomoni police have commended the initiative which they say will prevent young people from indulging in criminal activities.

Currently, young people have already started utilizing the studio.
