Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Lingson Belekanyama says it will be a grave failure and waste of public resources to ignore projects that are expected to transform lives of citizens once completed.

Belekanyama said the Tonse Alliance Government will therefore ensure that all developmental projects started by DPP led government are completed saying all projects are for people not governing political parties.

“The system of government works like a relay race, you continue from where one leadership stops. Imagine a country where all projects started by previous regimes are neglected! As for the Tonse Alliance Government, we will complete construction of all projects started by the previous government,” said Belekanyama.

He said this on Thursday after inspecting construction of Msikawanjala-Nansomba road and Msikawanjala and Chinakanaka markets in Mulanje district, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Lingson Belekanyama said it will be a grave failure and waste of public resources to ignore projects initiated by the previous government.

Parliamentarian for Mulanje Bale constituency Victor Musowa who thanked government through the Minister for adopting Msikawanjala market project said he will make sure that vendors occupy the market once completed.

“We have a vibrant committee at this market and together with the councilor and myself will ensure that sanitation is maintained at this market,” said Musowa.
