Springs of Hope Joins Forces Against Climate Change

Springs of Hope, a youth organization based in Balaka says it is committed to tackle climate change.

As part of its efforts in ensuring that there is meaningful youth engagement in Balaka district; the organization hosted a meeting between its youth members and members of the District Environmental Sector Committee (DESC), CSO Network, and Youth Network.

The aim of the meeting was to strategize on how best young people can be involved in climate action.

Director of Springs of Hope, Kumbukani Mamba, told Zodiak Online that “as young people, we have the energy and desire to respond to some of the challenges posed by climate change.

“If we concentrate all our efforts and collaborate with all the partners at district level; we can make some serious progress."

Springs of Hope is a youth organization that seeks to offer local solutions to problems in Balaka district and is currently conducting a series of activities under a small fellowship grant from the National Democratic Institute (NDI) Malawi.

“We are grateful for the technical support that we are currently getting from the NDI. Their belief and trust in us towards climate action are very commendable. We look forward to collaborating more," added Mamba.
