The body of the newborn was later discovered in Mlambudzi village in Thyolo by passers-by being devoured by dogs.

Limbe Police Officer in-Charge Gladson Chipumphula who has confirmed the incident happened in the area of Inkosi Bvumbwe, says the girls claims that she was not aware of her pregnancy until she self-delivered in that bush.

"She alleges that she was impregnated by her fellow learner at the school, but claimed was not aware of her pregnancy. So after that, she delivered herself and dumped the infant at that bush," Chipumphula said.

Chipumphula has disclosed that the girl, a standard seven leaner, has been taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) for medical examination.
