A Balaka-based Tithandizane youth organization (TIYSO) says it will embark on part-time technical skill lessons as part of youth empowerment.

The organisation's Director Aubrey Duwa disclosed this on Friday after the official opening of new office premises at Kachisi village in Balaka district saying there is need to empower the youths with skills like tailoring and welding, apart from normal education.

Tithandidzane Youth Organization started in 2017 with an aim to empower youths with technical skills like tailoring, welding apart from encouraging young people to attain primary and secondary education in the district.

"A lot of youths lack technical skills to be self-reliant and Tithandidzane Youth Organization is there to give support to the youths. No one is privileged to go to the University especially public universities or colleges to attain the required skills and knowledge to be self-independent and this Organization intends to fill that gap," said Duwa.

Balaka district hospital youth friendly coordinator Dan Mika, told Zodiak that government is ready to support youths, while calling on other partners to follow suit in order to realize Malawi 2063 aspirations.

The office structure has been constructed using a K15 million.
