A 42-year-old tailor in Thyolo, Humphrey Tebulo has been ordered to spend 42 years in prison for defiling two girls at Chaoneka village in the area of Traditional Authority Khwethemule after it was established that, he enticed them with pieces of cloth and a K100.

State prosecutor Abgail Mayuni told the court, to let the convict rot in jail because he had been defiling the two girls multiple times, before a third girl refused an attempt by Tebulo and reported the matter.

Mayuni said the convict was defiling them in a room at his workshop.

Senior Resident Magistrate Assunta Maxwell, however, did not consider the convicts medical condition in mitigation, handing the convict a concurrent 21-year jail term for each count.

In a related development, David Listone, 48, of Chitengu village, Traditional Authority Bvumbwe has also been sentenced to 10 years for indecent assault of a girl, as he awaits a defilement sentence.
