Makandi CDSS Students Facing 'Supernatural Attacks'

Some students at Makandi Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Thyolo are fainting due to what is believed to be the supernatural attacks.

The school's headteacher, Elias Kanyimbo, says several girls have been facing the challenge from last week.

Kanyimbo says several girls have been facing the challenge from last week and now there are two active cases.

He says the situation is a recurrent of what happened in April this year when the situation was intense.

"Currently, one is at Thyolo and another one has just come and I think she is okay after some prayers. It was in April when all this started so after prayers we recorded none in between, but it is only last week when these two started fainting and stopped speaking," Kanyimbo explained.

However, Chairperson for Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), Christopher Mkwanitsa says a meeting with school authorities has established that currently not less than 10 girls are facing the problem at the hostel where they allegedly see 'black-masked people' threatening them.

Mkwanitsa indicates that last time, "the affected students were prayed for and now we have agreed to engage the chiefs on Wednesday this week to find the possible solution to the recurrent incident at the institution," he said.

Mkwanitsa alleges that after resuscitation from fainting, the girls become dumb for some days.
