NICE Promotes MW2063 in Neno

The National Initiative for Civic Education-Trust in Neno district has challenged faith leaders to champion the popularization of the Malawi2063 blueprint in a bid to transform the economic status of the country.

Neno district NICE officer Wallace Kudzara says if faith leaders combine sermons and the agenda in their preaching, many people will come to know the agenda since they command a large following.

Kudzara is asking the civil servants to be hard workers and desist from any actions that might fail the agenda, adding the youth should also own the agenda.

"Corruption and laziness are a big cancer in our civil service and this has a potential to derail the agenda which will be a big blow to the realization of making our country a middle-income nation", he said.

Neno district pastor for the Church of Southern Africa Presbyterian Church (C.C.A.P), Reverend David Kholowa hailed NICE for the support it is giving to the blueprint while advising other players to remember the role faith leaders play in development.

"Faith leaders should not only be needed in times of calamities but also during peace and in development. We will make sure that we extend the messages contained in this document to our followers", committed Kholowa.

Pastor George Idi took time to advise the youth to own the document by making sure that they grow up with a culture of respect and patriotism towards their country.

Meanwhile, a Neno based economist David Namanjasi thinks revamping of mega farms and promotion of secondary cities is also key in realization of the MW2063 blueprint.
