Balaka based brothers, Wiski and Lapken Hassan, have for twenty years now been surviving and employing young people on tyre body plies trade (linya).

The two have since advised fellow youth to be proactive and become self-reliant than waiting for government incentives to progress in life.

They told Zodiak Online that they have since employed over 30 young people working in a chain of linya shops in Balaka, Machinga, Zomba and Mangochi districts.

"My brother started in 1994 with some people at Gulayi and I joined some years later. Few years into it we decided we could do the same on our own," says Lapken.

Lapken says they import the materials from South Africa.
