Chisenga has made the suggestion in reaction to a gruesome murder of a 12-year-old school girl in Thyolo on Tuesday this week.

That aside, Chisenga has called on the law enforcers to trace the culprits and ensure justice is served, describing the incident as 'shocking'.

"What has happened is quite shocking. We are calling upon all the stakeholders to rise up to fight for the rights and justice of this girl," she said.

Chisenga added: "We would like also to urge those stakeholders in teaching the defensive skills to step in as well by targeting such areas so that we have girls who are able to defend themselves."

Meanwhile, Thyolo Police Station Officer, John Jailos, told Zodiak Online on Thursday that investigators are on the ground after they have also engaged a pathologist Dr. Charles Dzamalala to conduct further investigations on the body of a standard 8 girl who was a learner at Ntambanyama Primary School.

"Officers are on the ground and we hope they will come out with something," he said.

Her body was found near Namitete river banks in the area of Senior Chief Khwethemule with both arms and legs bound after she went missing on her way from school.
