Ward councilors in Phalombe have taken a swipe at council's officials for frustrating implementation of development projects, six months after the council approved the projects.

Phalombe District Council has issued a stop order restraining one of the commercial banks from continuing with the process of paying a private secondary school under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Bursary for Phalombe South Constituency.

Authorities in Phalombe say equipping local development structures with skills is key to smooth implementation of standard development projects in the country.

Phalombe District Council says it has no land where it can use to relocate some markets that share boundaries with schools.
