The Catholic Bishop for Chikwawa Diocese has asked Malawians to pray for politicians to promote peace and unity as the country is scheduled to hold Tripartite Election in May, 2019.

Speaking during the commemoration of World Day of the Sick at Chikwawa District Hospital on Saturday, Episcope Peter Musikuwa said as candidates have finished presenting their nominations, there is need for politicians to stick to issues so as to achieve peaceful and credible election.

The Bishop said the country can conduct successful election if all candidates stick to issues.

He went on to urge Malawians to develop a culture of loving the sick and vulnerable people.

"Let us share with them what we have. Let's show them love," he said.

District Health Office Representative, Veronica Nkukumila, thanked the Catholic Church for holding mass and cheering the sick at the facility.

"Here, we have many challenges. We have inadequate ambulances, insufficient drugs and health workers. Patients lack food as the hospital only provides breakfast and lunch," said Nkukumila.
