CRUISE 5 WITH TIMOTHY MTAMBO - CHAIRPERSON FOR HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS COALITION

Timoth Mtambo is the new face of human rights activism in Malawi after managing to organise protests that have seen the largest numbers of Malawians pour into the streets.

He is the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation and Chairperson for the Human Rights Defenders Coalition. He is one of the human rights activists that have stood strong in speaking against human rights, bad governance or corruption.

He was born in Malawi, briefly lived in Zambia with his parents before moving to Chitipa where he grew up. He is a local chief and wears a bangle that has been handed down from generation to generation in his clan.
