A 15 year old boy in Nkhotakota district has been killed by a Crocodile.

A crocodile has killed a 15-year-old boy who was out swimming in Nkhotakota district.
 
The accident occurred Sunday evening in Ling'ona river.
 
Eye witnesses told Zodiak Online, that the boy and friends were swimming in the river when he was fatally attacked.
 
"He was swimming with his friends when crocodile attacked. His friends run shouting for help," one eye witness said.
 
Another added; "when well-wishers arrived, the boy had already died".
 
Postmortem results at Nkhotakota district hospital indicated the death was due to suffocation.
 
Meanwhile, police are appealing that elders take good care of children and not let them in dangerous places such as rivers.
 
The deceased has been identified as Mickson Jamson from Nzeru Village in the area of Senior Chief Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota district.

United Nation Education, Scientific and Culture Organization (UNESCO)  Acting Deputy  Executive Secretary in Malawi David Mulera has said  some languages in the country are gradually dying  out because they are not being used in education and do not have relevant materials to sustain the languages.
