Ministry of Agriculture has hailed success of the Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation, Infrastructure for improved health and livelihood project in three of five target districts.

Some vendors in Mzuzu continue to raise concerns on their health safety following the continued piling up of garbage outside the Mzuzu city main market where some vendors do set up their businesses and some streets within town.

A mountain of garbage growing just outside Mzuzu city main market has become a source of discomfort. Market vendors and shop owners close to the heap are now raising concern on health safety implications of operating in such an environment. The problem is also visible in some city streets where waste lays unattended for months on end.
