Illovo Launches Tseketseke Moments Promotion

Illovo Malawi has launched online tseketseke moments competition which will provide a chance to consumers to compete on their skills in cooking and baking using different variety of Illovo sugar produced at the local market. 

Speaking to journalists in Limbe - Blantyre during the launch of the competition, Illovo Sugar Managing Director, Lekani katandula says as the company they want to know how their consumers use their sugar so that they know where to improve and maintain.

“We are always looking to stay close to our consumers and that desire of always getting to know how our consumers use our sugar is what prompted us to launch this,” said Katandula.

The competition will let people post pictures of their baking, recipes and methods of cooking on Illovo Facebook page on weekly basis for which the recipe with most likes in the 8 weeks will enter into the final cook-off competition on 31 October 2021 which will be hosted by the company at Mount Soche Blantyre.

On the grand competition, the first winner will walk away with 5 million kwacha, 2 million kwacha for the second winner and for the third winner will be awarded 1 million kwachas.

Katandula said the competition will help contribute to country’s economic development through taxation if more people are going to buy the sugar.
