The bank's Head of Consumer Banking Sophie Kalambule made a demonstration that Ecobank customers can now dial *326# and self-register on the new platform. 

"Through this upgraded platform, our customers will be able to send and receive money instantly to and from 33 African countries where the pan African bank has its footprint," said Kalambule.

She added; "over and above sending money to other local banks and mobile wallets, customers will also be able to send money via Xpress cash where one can cash at any Ecobank ATM without using an ATM card."

According to Kalambule, the upgraded platform is inclusive as it does not select type of phone for transaction.

"The good thing is that all this can be done anytime anywhere using any type of phone, without the need for data; hence, contributing to the financial inclusion drive,” Kalambule said.

According to   Ecobank website, the bank has employed over 14, 000 people and served about 29 million customers in the consumer, commercial and corporate banking sectors across 33 African countries.
