Coca-Cola Re-Launches 'Iwe Umati' Initiative
There was Jubilation at desert ground in Bangwe township in Blantyre when Coca-cola Beverages Malawi Limited was re-launching 'Iwe Umati initiative' aimed at giving back to the community.
The company's Sales Leader for Blantyre, Matilda Mponda told journalists yesterday that the company is also targeting shop owners especially from rural areas to grow their businesses.
"People have been supporting us and we also need to give out to the community.
"We also want to increase the profits of retailers and rural show owners who sell soft drinks thereby growing their businesses," said
Mponda.
She further stated that through this intervention, lucky people will be walking away with smart TVs, solar panels, micro waves, phones among others.
A 21 year old Bangwe resident,Jones Taula Khosi asked companies to do more activities to improve the welfare of the citizens.
"We ask companies to do more in supporting citizens especially in the implementation of corporate social responsibility and others," said Khosi.
He then thanked Coca-cola for its activities.
"We want to commend Coca-cola for coming here in Bangwe, we had a lot of fun and various prizes given to people," said Khosi.
This comes when several companies are running various promotions in the country with a purpose of increasing visibility and income.
