MEC Chief Elections Officer, Sam Alfandika, says in a statement that the exercise will run concurrently from 10 to 11 October, 2019.
“All those who registered for the May 21, 2019 Tripartite Elections will not need to register again but just go to the centre where they registered to inspect their names in the voters roll. The Commission is also advising that no transfers will be allowed.
“The Commission is further reminding all political parties and aspirants that nomination papers are available for collection from the Constituency/Ward Returning Offices and council headquarters,” reads the statement in part.
Alfandika says the Commission will receive nomination papers on 16th October, 2019 but aspirants are encouraged to take their nomination papers for pre-inspection on 15th October, 2019 at their Constituency/Ward Returning Office.
The Commission will hold the by-elections on 5 November, 2019 following death of candidates who were supposed to represent the areas in the May 21, 2019 elections.
