APM Aide Constructs Multi-million Church in Ntcheu

President Peter Mutharika's aide Norman Chisale has constructed a multimillion kwacha Nthumba CCAP church building in his home village in Ntcheu within 39 days.

Chisale says he spent close to 50 million kwacha to construct the church.

"I have helped many people elsewhere, and thought of assisting people at home," Chisale said.

He also donated iron sheets to Tchesa CCAP at Nsipe in Ntcheu to the tune of 4 million kwacha, which he says was part of his allowances he got from a recent trip to Russia.

The presidential aide has also promised to construct two classroom blocks at Nthumba Primary School as one way of paying back some bricks he borrowed to finish construction of the church.

Meanwhile, Chisale has ruled out any political ambitions.

"I am blessed in other ways, and am happy to assist others without getting involved in politics," said Mutharika's aide, amid rumours that he has political ambitions.

Blantyre Synod General-Secretary Reverend Dr. Billy Gama commended Chisale for the Church, appealing to others to emulate the presidential aide.

"I have a pile of letters on my desk from different congregations looking for such support but the synod cannot manage, so this is something others may borrow a leaf from," Dr. Gama said.
