Land Laws Yet to Roll Out
The country’s citizenry should wait a little longer to start using the new land laws as the line ministry says it is still working on some technicalities on the pilot program.
Speaking to Zodiak Online Tuesday, Communications Specialist for the Land Reforms Unit, Charles Vintulla, said initially they planned to pilot the program in eight districts from 2019 to2020, but it may be extended to ensure that they address all the technicalities before rolling out nationwide.
Vintulla said the ministry would want to gather enough information before rolling out of the new land related laws.
Group village head Maoni whose area has benefited from the pilot program in Phalombe said the program has greatly assisted them since it has promoted land ownership among the subjects.
"We are not registering cases of land disputes since every subject knows his or her boundary," said Maoni.
