"Lives of people are a priority. We will make sure that villagers are protected," said Kumchedwa.
The action from the department comes at a time crocodiles injured a man in Mthumba River in Maseya area, killed a girl at Makhuwira and a fisherman in Nkombezi River in Lundu area a few days ago.
Experts suspect that the beasts are coming from the Shire River into smaller rivers that currently have plenty running waters due to the rains.
Chikwawa police spokesperson, Sargent Foster Benjamin, told Zodiak Online that the fisherman, Charles Petro, was brutally attacked by the reptile and left in a graphic state.
