Police Warns Indisciplined Officers

Acting Commissioner of Police for Central Region has warned law enforcers who are tarnishing the image of the service in the region due to their misconduct while in line of duty that the police will not let them go scot free.
Evelista Chisale said unprofessional conduct of some police officers has led to a distortion of relationship between police and the public.
 
"While people appreciate role of the officers in crime prevention, a few individuals are tarnishing the image of the service hence will take action against officers on the wrong side of the law," said Chisale.
 
She however said the year 2019 remain thorny to the region as it experienced a lot of post election violence.
 
The violence led to the death of a Police Officer, Superintendent, Usman Imedi beside destruction of  properties belonging to both government and individuals.
 
Imedi was killed by a mob at Msundwe in Lilongwe while restoring order.
 
Chisale was speaking Friday evening in Ntcheu during award presentation of outstanding officers in the district for the just ended year.
 
Ntcheu Police Officer In-Charge Aubrey Nyirenda said awards to the officers and individuals is aimed at strengthening safety and security in the district.
 
Meanwhile, Ntcheu District Commissioner, Smart Gwedemula has reaffirmed support in providing vehicles to police whenever needed to ease mobility challenges faced by the men in uniform in the district. 
 
Among the awardees were Inkosi Ya Makhosi Gomani V and Ntcheu District Commissioner, Smart Gwedemula. 
 
Over six police officers were also awarded in various categories like traffic, prosecution, administration and criminal investigation department among others.
