SeedCo Marketing Manager, Dennis Mzalimbo, says with continued change in climate Malawians should be made aware of the importance of hybrid seedling.

Mzalimbo argues that use of hybrid seedling would enhance continued progress in agriculture with the changes in climate.

“The rainfall pattern has changed. That automatically requires a mindset change of farmers to change from old way of farming to new ways,” explained Mzalimbo.

Farmers who were given the seedling donation echoed the sentiments observing that there has been change of harvests since they migrated to using hybrid seed varieties.

James Samwiri and Clement Chiundula  are some of the farmers who have used hybrid seed for over 10 years.

Lucky farmers were also given iron sheets and bicycles in a promotion heralded by SeedCo.
