Moslems to Observe Fasting of Ramadan in Their Homes

The Muslim Association of Malawi has urged its faithfuls across the country to remain in their homes when observing fasting for the holy mass of Ramadan.

MAM Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika told Zodiak online Thursday that the move to stay home will help in preventing Moslems from contracting the deadly coronavirus.

"We are urging Moslems to continue adhering to precautionary measures set by government if the battle against COVID-19 is to be achieved," said Chabulika.

Sheikh Chabulika hinted that observing of the holy mass of Ramadan will take place either Friday or Saturday depending on the sighting of the new moon.

So far a total of 33 cases have been registered in the country with three deaths and three recoveries.
