Speaking while receiving a donation from Church of Christ, Deputy Matron for St John’s Hospital Chrispin Kamanga says most COVID 19 prevention products are disposables and as such need frequent restocking but the current pricing is quite challenging.

Kamanga also indicated the need for stakeholders to step in and assist health facilities.

“Since COVID 19 started prices have gone, we run short of mask and normally we would buy at K3,500 for a box of 50 but you can’t believe now it’s at K40, 000.00,” Kamanga indicated.

Church of Christ has since rescued some health facilities in the north by donating protective equipment to assist hospitals in the fight against the pandemic.

“As a church we feel we have two roles, to spread the word of God and also look at needs the community. So, we thought they should give to the community more especially the health sector so that it can help them during the COVID 19 Pandemic,” Tauka said.
