Speaking on Wednesday, while making a donation to people in the city of Mzuzu under the project Emergency Response to COVID 19 for Vulnerable women, Bishop of the diocese John Ryan says the new Government through the COVID 19 taskforce must revisit and intensify measures that will reduce the spread of the virus.

Bishop Ryan says, the new government as it settles down must consider intensifying or putting in place new and strict measures in order to deal with the spreading of the virus.

"Now we have a new government and we believe that they are going to have a different approach, and once they settle down they will try to put in strong measures, but obviously continuing with the washing of hands, social distance and wearing of masks," said Bishop Ryan.

One of the beneficiaries, a business woman who Is also a mother of 8 Enestina Kanyinji says she has been hardly hit by the effects of the pandemic as she can’t run her business of selling vegetables where a lot of people are opting to staying home.

"With the coming COVID 19, when we go to peoples houses to sell out merchandise w are sent back as some think we might have COVID19," says Kanyinji.

Father John Benjamin Moyo of the St Peters Parish says the 3 months under the Emergency Response to COVID 19 for Vulnerable women project will equip the women with knowledge on businesses which can in turn help them sustain their livelihood.
