Father Joachim Msekanawose Morocco Mwale of the Karonga Diocese has become the first Catholic Priest to succumb to COVID-19 pandemic as he passed on today at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
Episcopal Conference of Malawi Secretary General Father Henry Saindi has confirmed the sad news in an interview with Zodiak Tuesday afternoon saying he contracted the virus in Lilongwe when he went to visit some relations.
Until his death Father Joachim Mwale was a Curate at St Michaels Parish and Vocations Director at Karonga Diocese.
