These were those that got retrenched in the sale and takeover of the bank by FDH bank. 

They say they now feel that equal access to justice as enshrined in the Constitution of Malawi is just an illusion as demonstrated by the Industrial Relations Court in Blantyre.

 In a matter of Justin Chikaonda, Ezekiel Mangani & 210 Versus FDH Bank, the aggrieved through their representative Ezekiel Mangani are wondering how other cases that came before it on the same issue, have been concluded while their matter is still dragging in the same court. 

Mangani alleges that the group also wrote Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda and the Attorney General two weeks ago to intervene on their concerns bordering on alleged incompetence of some judicial officers at the Industrial relations Court, but there has been no response. 

The Attorney General Dr. Chikosa Silungwe acknowledged receiving the complaint from the Ex-MSB workers but said it was for the Judiciary to act. 

When contacted, High Court Judge Agnes Patemba who is also Judiciary Spokesperson and registrar of the High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal said she will be following up on the matter.

About 210 employees from the then government-owned Malawi Savings Bank were laid off by FDH Holdings in 2016 after a sell and take over by the private bank, owned by business magnet Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira.
