Contractors of, Njakwa-Livingstonia Road and Rumphi Teacher Training College. for example have attributed the delay in completion of the projects to funding woes.

``We have been affected with two issues. The first one is funding from the government and the other thing is covid-19 and as a result we have been failing to import construction materials from outside the country due to travel restriction”, says Gianluca Bizzaro of SR Nicholas, constructing the Rumphi TTC project.

Construction works for the Njakwa-Livingstonia Road in Rumphi was supposed to finish on May 2020, but it has been revised twice from October 2020 to October 2021.

While, construction works of Rumphi Teacher Training Collage, was supposed to finish in January 2020.

Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who toured some of the infrastructure development projects currently under construction has promised to source funds for the project's that are expected to transform Malawi.

Said Dr. Chilima, ``we will be able to finish these projects and move on. Indeed we have delayed but there is that hope that we will finish them”.

The Vice President also toured Mzuzu University new Library construction site that is expected to take 24 months to complete. The K7. 5 billion project was established after an old library was gutted down by fire in 2016.The University lost almost all books and library equipment to fire
