Lawyer of the accused, George Jivason Kadzipatike has told us that he has already started preparing court documents to seek guidance on the allegations since there is no proof against the two fired employees.

``The two have approached us with their complaints. We are scrutinizing them and possibly, we will go to court for clarification,” says Kadzipatike.

In April and May, this year panic gripped residents of Salima district following revelations that Salima Sugar Company Limited had registered nine cases of covid19.

It was reported that the nine were among the 40 technicians who arrived in the country from India after undergoing a Covid-19 test in that country as per travel requirements.

Salima Sugar Company Secretary and Cooperate Affairs manager Dr. Charles Thupi who has signed the dismissal letters has confirmed the upshot saying the two breached the institution’s policies.

Explains Dr. Thupi, `` It was unfortunate that the two made public false information about Salima Sugar Company Limited. The dismissal is purely to disciplining them"

The two are suspected to have sent voice notes to the public claiming that there was nothing the Company was doing to contain the pandemic at the institution.
