Nkhonjera was speaking in Mzuzu on Wednesday afternoon during a meetup with entrepreneurs from the Northern Region in order to appreciate successes and challenges of young entrepreneurs.

One of the attendees and Founder of Purple innovation for girls and women Patricia Mtungila, while appreciating the business meeting, said that it is important for entrepreneurs to know the benefits of using renewable energy in their businesses such aquaculture, beekeeping and general farming as the country is slowly developing.

“As you know now more than ever we need to come up with solutions to produce renewable energy, because we have a legislation that is banning illegal usage of charcoal. To see how we can find solutions that reduce malawi’s energy poverty, as this also mostly affects women and girls more,” said Mtungila.
