GLOHOMO Calls For Unity in Human Trafficking Fight

An organization fighting against human trafficking in the country, Global Hope Mobilization GLOHOMO has challenged law enforcement institutions to show commitment by expediting prosecution of cases.

The Organizations Executive Director Caleb Thole has told Zodiak Online that much as more people are reporting on the vice but strict enforcement of existing Trafficking In Persons Act is the only way of dealing with the vice.

Thole also observed that civil society players are key in fighting the syndicate by taking advantage of their advocacy role.

"As an organization, we believe that this fight can best be won if different players join forces in sensitizing the masses about its effects," said Thole.

Thole further appealed with local councils in the country to consider incorporating trafficking in persons indicators in their programming.

Chairperson for Karonga Civil Society Networks Jabesi Nyirenda agreed with Thole on the role of the CSO’s in the fight.

Global Hope Mobilization is implementing Tigwirane Manja project with financial support from USAID.
