600 Mzimba Homes in Dire Straits
Over 600 households in Mzimba are in dire need of urgent assistance after their houses and crops were damaged in heavy rains accompanied by strong winds days ago.
M'mbelwa district council disaster desk officer,George Gopani, on Wednesday said over 300 hectares of crops have been washed away. The affected, he said, need assistance inform of food, temporally building materials and cooking utensils.
The area of senior Chief Mthwalo has been heavily hit by the disasters with other areas being under senior chief Mpherembe, Inkosi Mzikubola, Kampingo Sibande and Jalavikuwa
