Brothers Killed Over Chieftaincy in DA
A 62-year-old man, Kakhomba Kenamu, who is group village headman Kakhomba, is said to have killed his 66-year-old brother, Kaponda kenamu, whom he had quarreled over the chieftaincy in Dowa district.
Sources have told Zodiak Online that Kakhomba dumped his brother’s body in Lumbadzi River before disappearing from the village.
Dowa Police Publicist, Sub-inspector Gladson M'bumpha, says in retaliation, angry people hunted for the suspect and found him at Nkhoma in Lilongwe.
“They brought him back to the village where they destroyed all his property before setting him alight last night," he said.
Postmortem conducted at Dowa District Hospital established that the two died due to severe loss of blood and multiple wounds. Police are yet to make arrests in relation to the matter.
