Ntcheu Accident Kills One, 8 Admitted to Hospital
A person has died while eight others are admitted to Ntcheu District Hospital after a vehicle they were traveling in overtuned at Bula village in Ntcheu, Tuesday evening.
District Police Spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu identified the deceased as Charles Bonongwe of Mzondo village, Traditional Authority Chitukula in Lilongwe.
Chigalu told Zodiak online that the accident involved a motor vehicle registration number BT 8161, Mitsubishi Fuso Pick-up and had thirteen passengers on board was driven by Mr. Enerst Chitamba.
"The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road surface. This resulted to the vehicle swerving to the extreme nearside verge where it overturned once," he said.
He say the victims are members of Kalambo CCAP Church in Lilongwe and were on their way home from a funeral in Chiradzulu.
The Ntcheu Distrct Police Publicist says the deceased, Bonongwe sustained head injuries and died upon arrival at Ntcheu District Hospital.
