Daud Suleman, who was a witness of MCP President, Lazarous Chakwera in the disputed May 21 presidential election’s case has told journalists in Lilongwe that the reporting is based on alleged rigging scheme of the fresh presidential poll.

"This is violation of human rights, we are not stopping here, Mr. President We are even too vigilant to frustrate the rigging scheme,”said Suleman.

Suleman also claimed that President Mutharika installed Visual Private Network-VPN machines at the Presidential palace in Lilongwe which will be used to manipulate the data management system for the presidential election.

Alleged Suleman, "VPN machines were installed last November, but know that, they will not work, again.”

At the press conference the young people also read a letter to Malawi Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah, why she is not leaving her position as directed by parliament.

Daud Suleman who was a witness of MCP President Lazarus Chakwera in the May, 21 presidential election case says the opposition youth will take a further step on the matter.

"Madam, we don’t really understand why you and fellow commissioners are still at MEC while parliament found you incompetent in managing the disputed May21 polls,’’ said Suleman.

Presidential spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani has dismissed the allegations.

"This is not the first time to have election rigging claims from the opposition side, ’’ said Kalirani.

Malawi will hold a fresh presidential poll in July this year should the supreme court uphold a high court ruling that nullified the May 21 election.
