Burning Truck Kills Driver in Ntcheu

A man aged 30 has died of burns after the truck he was driving got involved in an accident before exploding into uncontrollable flames in Ntcheu district today.
Police spokesperson in Ntcheu, Hastings Chigalu, has identified the deceased as Bright Mlewa from Sabwera Village in T/A Makwangwala’s area in the district.
“He got trapped under the vehicle which had overturned,” Chigalu said.
The accident occurred at Phuka village a kilometer before Tsangano Turn-Off Road Block and police suspect this was after the driver failed to control.
The lone passenger on board, according to Chigalu, escaped with minor injuries.
The vehicle had a South African plate registration number and had carried goods for Malawians living in the rainbow nation and were in transit to destinations.
