Norman Chisale, the private bodyguard to ex-President Peter Mutharika is seeking court protection from further arrests after three consecutive arrests in under two weeks.

The matter is in court today before a Supreme Court judge in Blantyre.

Our source privy to the matter says “Chisale’s lawyer Chancy Gondwe made an initial application on July 31 and the matter came before Justice Charles Mkandawire (High Court) who refused to grant the order”

“He then appealed to the Supreme Court and the matter came before Lovemore Chikopa ex-parte on Sunday August 10,” said the source.

Chikopa observed that the gravity of the matter required that it be heard inter-parte today before Justice Frank Kapanda at the Blantyre registry.

Norman Chisale has been arrested on three occasions in under two three weeks for a string of charges including fraud, money laundering and the murder of ACB’s third in-command Issa Njauju.

He has been on remand at Maula Prison.

Our sources say police have more files against him.
